Latest FasTrack has proposal that side skirts could be 5" wide when viewed from above.
Trying to figure out why any car needs that. Shouldn't they be limited to not exceed the outer edge of the tire?
At least that is how I would interpret a plan view....
Or are we folding it back under the...
Recently I saw a port with extinguisher symbols on the engine cover for a pay loader at work.
You can see the style at; Fire Port (www.marineeast.com)
Having had a fire under the hood of my car and seeing the difficulty of pulling hood pins of a hot hood, having one or two ports on our...
In the past (per my recollection), "National" drivers were excluded for "Regional" championships.
Are "majors" drivers now excluded? it seems odd since there is a "regional" path as well as a "Majors" path to the Runoffs. And wouldn't someone qualifying for the runoffs via the "regional"...
I just got a survey link emailed me regarding the race at Gingermans.
One of the questions regarded possibly having two races Saturday. I think they may be concerned there will be poor attendance due to Mother's Day.
They also asked about if we liked Quad race weekends.
Jim, I think...
I kind of figured this was okay but am missing where this would be allowed
I see the single wiper reference under electrical but it seems a bit of a leap to say the bottle can be removed under "electrical system is free"
All I can find is the front bar between the A pillars and the front footwell bars is needed.
I know I can race in ITA trim but to get to the STL weight I want to make sure I am compliant. Looks like fire extinguisher and windshield clips and fuel tank/cell requirements are the same.

Do double dippers have to have two log books? that is does each class the car runs have its own log book?
Or do we just use the one book and log it there? One reason I am asking is there are slight differences in the car prep ( horizontal dash bar in STL & minimum threads exposed at lugnuts...

i have seen many cage pics lately with a "box" that supports the hoop, etc. this looks like a good way to get better access to weld the bottom of the hoop, front tube down by the A piller, etc.
not sure what part of the rules allows this. if it is the reinforcing plate then does the box...
per May 2012 GCR update:
so i can remove the entire motor, etc. and in the simplest form, tape over the resulting hole, correct?
motor support /mouting brackets would not be part of the system or would they?

the helmet discussion got me thinking.
my right side net meets the rules but is not as tight as some i have seen. there are some that have a ratchet strap in front portion of it. mine does not.
when i crank mine down tight, it cannot be as tight as i think it should be or you cannot attach...
my enclosed trailer has the standard rear door and ramp. i have seen a number of trailers with the fold/drop down end of the door with ramps that are 24" to 36" long vs. the ~12" (guess from memory).
i'd like to get to the ~3" long since i sometimes have issues with tow hooks hitting the ramp...
i have a couple of intake manifolds and was thinking about doing some flow tests. any suggestions on how to do this with typical materials found at home?
i can borrow some regulators and rotameters from work if needed.
also, any manifold cleaning techniques i should shy away from that might...
