    MR2 in ITB?

:dead_horse: After reading reading about: 1. Well written posts about the Z3 (which has a power to weight ratio that I can only dream about) 2. New roll cage rules that would allow MR2's to gain weight without making people build new cages. 3. The new spec weight for 1'st Gen MR2's that I...

Can you mix cage tube sizes?

My MR2's cage is a 1.75" tube - but 1.5" is all that is required. I still need to add the extra door bars for the rule change this year. Can I use 1.5" tube for this even though it's connecting to 1.75" tube?

    ITA RX7 Tubing size

Just taking a poll. If you read the GCR to the letter of the law, you are allowed to run 1.5x.095 tubing on an ITA RX7, but the RX7 just squeeks by. If it were classed with a weight even 10lbs higher it would require 1.75x.095 or 1.5"x.125 tubing. So if a car like the RX7 were to be classed...

    LRP pricing themselves into oblivion?

The Jeff Poor memorial had the lowest turn out in years. To put this in perspective, this was the first race of the year, a day after a school, and in a year with only four regionals at LRP (the most convenient track for most at one of the SCCA’s largest regions). What would normally be a huge...

    A3S04 for road racing?

Last year I ran the 205/55VR14 R3S04’s on my ITA MR2. My car is REALLY easy on tires (balanced, light, lots of camber), and after a full year of road racing, I probably have half the tread left on them. The tires never really overheat, and I only get about 5-8psi growth in them. I can fit...

    Latch and Link, Camlock, Graco?

I really wish that a harness manufacturer would implement the technology of my baby's 5-point harness. Basically, picture a camlock where the left lap and sholder are connected at the ends, right lap and shoulder are connected at the ends, and the cam mechanism is part of the sub belt. Getting...

Can cars with 14" wheels now use 13" wheels?

Honest question - the new wording from the January Fasttrack is: "cars originally equipped with thirteen (13) inch or fourteen (14) inch wheels may fit up to a fifteen (15) inch wheel." So say my car came originally equipped with (14) inch wheels, if I use a 13" wheel, does that qualify as "up...

    Headers: ceramic coating? Wrapping?

I've been considering getting a header for my ITA MR2, and have been looking for a 4:1 header. The only one that is available that isn't cu$tom made is made by pacesetter for the Corolla. Good news is it is dirt cheap. Here's the question - I can get it for $140 or $100 more for their Armor...

Any1 have contact info for the Red RX7 that needs an engine?

There was a red RX7 racing in ITA this weekend that looked to be in desperate need of a 12a. I have a friend with a good one that he just pulled out of his car. If he or someone who knows him is reading this, I can be reached at [email protected]

    Class restructure proposal

By using the hp/weight ratios, here are a list of vehicles that should be considered for the next lower class. The first number is spec weight, followed by hp. ITS -> ITA 2555 / 142 AcuraIntegra(3 door)(94-95) 2780 / 154 Alfa Romeo Milano 2.5L (87-89) 2600 / 134 BMW 318i/is Twin Cam (90-91)...

IT Car classifications now online w/stock HP

On my homepage at www.racerjake.com is a link the EXCEL file. I've added many HP numbers and a weight/hp factor (nice to sort by), but admittedly there are many omissions and errors. I’d like us all to be able to use this as a reference. If you can correct an error or add any missing HP...

    Building a T2 Nissan 350Z?

I know this is IT, but there seems to be lots of knowledge here. What's involved in building a T2 car? Am I correct that it is basically SS but faster? I'm looking at some of the new classifications, and the WRX STi and Lancer EVO just seem silly in T1, but the 350Z looks to stand a chance in T2.

March Fastrack is out, let the games begin!

http://www.scca.org/news/tech/fastrack/04-...03-fastrack.pdf This seem to come up a lot: "The car would be too fast for IT_ unless it could be handicapped with a weight adjustment, which is currently not allowed by the rules" This one speaks volumes: "Create a new class between ITS and ITA...

    225/50 vs. 205/55

Is bigger always better? I'm looking at getting a set of Hoosiers for next season, and am torn about which size to go to. I'm happy with my 225/50-14 Toyos which are about the same size as a 205/50 Hooiser. Is there any gain by getting a 225/50 Hooiser (which I estimate really should be a...
