The track really grew on me. At first I wasn't too sure about it, but at I gained experience and confidence with driving it, I liked it more and more. In some areas the track surface was a bit beat up, but surprisingly it really didn't effect handling much. The track has a little of everything - elevation changes, the how big are your kohonas turns, long straight, tight turns, ect. If you like the downhill at LRP, you'll have some fun on one of the turns at Summit.
This particular event is very, very large so paddock space was very tight. Jake and I actually shared one space, which still wasn't too bad. I think there were about 365 entrants.
My only complaint was the time it takes to get there. From CT it took us about 7 hours. I will definately be going back next year for the same labor day event.
It was also nice because my wife and our other friends were able to go to Washington D.C. during one of the race days - 3 full days of racing would have been too much for them. I know, it's hard to believe. They must be crazy.
I've been to Poconos, LRP, the Glen, and NHIS. Summit may be my new favorite track. I do really like LRP (the downhill) and the Glen as well. Summit seems to put emphasis on the driver and the car unlike some tracks where it is more reliant on how fast the car is. It's worth a trip.
