Porsche Boxster in ITS? T3?

My favorite cars are Porsches hands down. I started in ITS with a 944 - not my favorite model but at least my favorite marque. It wasn't competitive and to be competitive a hugely expensive car to build. The 944S is more competitive but still the cost is pretty huge.

Any chance the 97 Boxster would ever be classed? At 201 hp stock and a possible 251 hp based on the 25% hp increase estimate we are beggining to use is there any chance of this car making it into ITS - even with some weight? Boxster S is not even remotely possible in ITS at a stock 250ish hp.

Second question is there any talk about putting a Boxster or Boxster S in T3? Anybody got any skinny on that?

I'd like to race a Boxster but not in T2 where it's just not competitive.

Still trying to figure out my plan for 2007.

The boxster is very competitive in T2.

Ben,

The power and chassis characteristics puts this car in the 3300lbs range. It's simple a legit choice for a class above ITS IMHO.

Thanks guys - Joe, do you know any Boxster T2 guys I could email? I'd like to get some perspective and I don't know anybody running the car.

Fast Freddie Baker built Mark's car I believe. Call him up.
Ask for Mike Garriga, he the race technician.

Ben,
I definately would call Fred and/ or Mike. Tell them Dan Jones told you to call and tell them I said Hi. You will either get a good price or you'll get charged double. :D

Cool - that's who I was trying to remember - fast Freddie ran one at the Runoffs several years back and finished up near the front.

I don't think there are many being campaigned - couldn't find much on race results.

I'll call and give 'em your name Dan - I'll let them know you've promised a sweet price :happy204:

Not sure I'd go with this car in T2 though - Joe, I need to see some results on this ride.

It would be an awesome IT car - ITGT baby!

Cheers,

Fred put one on the front row a couple of years ago. If I was not so deep in the 350z project I would be all over the boxster.

I spoke with Jim Mcfarlen at FredBaker Porsche. They are preparing to try and move the Boxster S to T3 to be competitive. Based on the feedback they provided, a very unlikely chance of winning in T2.

Still looking........
