Pro IT Series (NE) - Round 4 at Watkins Glen

Steve, I am pretty sure you will just be pushing me around! I need at least a weekend to learn how to drive a rear wheel drive car! I hope to be faster than my ITB car, and I hope it runs well. So far it has only driven around the dealership parking lot. On a side note can you bring a book out with you for my wife on the ride home? If not I am sure we can stop and grab one at a bookstore.

I am also with Ben, we need to figure out how to kick some BMW but (JK but seriously the www.autotechnic.net group is top notch and probably some of the fastest in the country!). We could also make it a Japan vs. German thing. Maybe Ben is now out of our click! Although he could buy his way back in...

It looks like Round 4 is really heating up!

Heat hot

Bring your cool suits going to be a hot weekend (at least the Weather service says so) Looks like the mid west weather is moving east. 53 Entries in Pro-it and 193 for regional. Now a little more advice! Please get a Head and Neck restraint system now!

As a month ago the track did not have an event wednesday or thursday so I'm not sure how open they will be... Usually you can drop/leave whatever you want by 8, you just have to sign a waiver with security.

I lost her cell number, but Marianne can tell you for sure:

In the past, the test day has been a sleep at the registration building in the truck deal, then the mad rush to stake your claim and get going.

Beware, if you are group one for the test day, bringing crew is a wise move, as there's often little time between getting your registration/credentials and the track opening for cars.

It may have been mentioned before, who is the Pro-IT Series Chief Steward? Tom Hansen which is now running ITE in NARRC regionals (car setup is under the NASA GTS rules yet with SCCA logbook) is interested in running ITX. Rules states that the Series Chief Steward must approve - who should I point him to. Thanks!

EDIT: nevermind, found it in the supps... Terry Hanushek

The next to last time I did a test day at the Glen I arrived from the 5 hr drive from CT at 4AM, jumped on line about 5:30 (amazingly went backwards fast as 5 or 6 guys in line were holding places for a bunch of others), and got sent here and there, waiting and waiting.
I finally pulled into the track gate at 8:10. Needless to say I missed first group, as I crew for myself. Maybe they were understaffed.

The next time I went, I was prepared and went to get online even earlier.

It is..."warm"...up here. Just came "gack frum der bar", so we're good...

I don't think Jeremy will make it past noon.

Speaking of crew... are they free or do we have to pay for each one?

From the event supps: Credentials will be provided at Registration for drivers, entrants and four crew to a maximum of five credentials per car. ..... Driver/Entrant must supply names for all who are authorized to purchase overcrew passes, which will be available at Registration: $10.00 each.

This is for the race - not sure how the Test Day works

Terry

Stopped up at the track a little while ago and he said he thinks that tomorrow (test day) is a non spectator day and that only guests of drivers can go in. So I think that's free...

Looking for photos of my car on track :) I really want one with flames coming out the back! If anyone knows the contact info or websites that the photographers post them on let me know.

Stephen

Stephen! Are you running RAL? I can ask my photographer to get some such pics if you don't have any luck here.
